This is a very solid tea. I have no critiques. I was given a sample of Big Red Robe about five months ago, and I can't believe that I forgot about it. Whenever I think about tea just in general, this is the tea that comes to mind. It's just the perfect paradigm of what tea is. It has a very robust aroma that just screams 'I AM TASTY!'. The liquor is darker than most oolongs that I've tried and tastes toasty (not smoked) with notes of some type of small grain, similar to that barley smell from scotch. When you're brewing this tea, make sure you don't forget about it! The tea can be very strong and go bitter fast if you leave it for even just a minute extra. Though I like strong tea, I've found that I steep this tea for about 20 seconds on its first steep, 30 s on the second, about a minute on the third, and two minutes on the fourth steep before the flavor is too weak.

I love this tea, but I didn't even order order it; it was included as my "happiness supplement" (I'm not complaining, but this it the second time they've gotten me like this; what an amazing marketing technique!). From the first sip, I was overwhelmed from by an almost ASMR-level sense of wellbeing and pleasant nostalgia. The intensity of the reaction may be specific to my own experience, but this is THE tea that they were serving at middling-to-higher end chinese restaurants in the late 80's to mid-90's. Or, rather, this tea is much nicer (better aroma, no bitterness, etc.), but it's what they were TRYING to serve. Strongly recommend.
