This teapot was created with Hei Jin Gang Clay which is a blend of Zi Ni (Purple Clay) and Bao Lan Zhu Ni. It's dark in color with some purple and brown with a small amount of sand mixed in. Porous and perfect for any pure leaf tea, this teapot will slowly absorb the flavor and color of whatever you brew in it. About the artist: Xia Cai Hong is a graduate of the Yixing Academy of Clay Arts. She's from a teapot crafting family that's been creating works of art in Yixing for three generations. Her favorite teapot styles are "Fang Gu" and "Rong Tian". Her father Xia Fu Ru is now retired but worked in Yixing Factory #1 starting in the 1970s after the end of the Cultural Revolution. Every teapot is hand-made and the artisan will sometimes change the stamps they use
