Our Japan Hojicha is made by roasting Kukicha steams and leaves, which tend to have lower caffeine levels. The roasting turns its leaves to a chocolatey brown and reduces the amount of caffeine further, making it ideal to drink in the evening and after meals. The flavor is buttery, smooth, toasty and slightly smoky.
